Simran Sakshi
Counseling Psychologist
Simran is a trauma-informed counselling psychologist grounded in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and attachment theory, offering a warm, collaborative space for clients to reconnect with themselves and build more secure ways of relating.

I am a trauma-informed counselling psychologist with a deep interest in understanding how our relationships and life experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and others. I was drawn to this profession by a genuine curiosity about people and a belief that healing begins when we feel emotionally safe enough to be fully ourselves.
My work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), attachment theory, and nervous system regulation. I aim to offer a warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental space where we can make sense of your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Rather than focusing on fixing you, I believe therapy is about helping you reconnect with yourself, build self-trust, and develop more secure ways of relating.
Having lived in Japan as an expat, I understand how culture, identity, and belonging can shape our emotional wellbeing. My hope is that clients leave our conversations feeling understood, accepted, and a little more connected to themselves.
Areas of Support
I primarily work with adults experiencing emotional overwhelm, anxiety, burnout, and nervous system dysregulation, as well as those navigating relationship difficulties, people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-criticism, and the lasting impact of relational trauma. Many of my clients are self-aware yet find themselves feeling stuck in patterns they understand but struggle to change. I also support individuals adjusting to major life transitions, including relocation, adapting to life in a new country, and identity shifts. Some clients come to therapy with a clear concern, while others simply know they are no longer feeling like themselves. Wherever you find yourself, we can begin from there, moving at a pace that feels manageable and meaningful.
Therapeutic Approach
My work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and informed by attachment theory, nervous system regulation, and evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, and mindfulness. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I adapt therapy to your unique experiences, needs, and goals.
Our sessions often involve understanding emotional and relational patterns, exploring how past experiences continue to shape the present, and developing greater awareness of what happens within your mind and body. Depending on what feels helpful, we may also work with practical strategies to support emotional regulation and daily life.
I see therapy as a collaborative process. You are the expert on your own life, and together we will move at a pace that feels safe and meaningful, regularly reflecting on what feels most helpful and adjusting our work as your needs evolve.
Who I Work With
I primarily work with adults (18 years and above) and offer individual therapy in English and Hindi. I have experience supporting clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, including expatriates, international clients, university students, and working professionals. I also work with individuals navigating relocation, cross-cultural adjustment, and major life transitions. At present, I do not offer couples or family therapy, and I do not work with children or adolescents.
Professional Experience
Over the past four years, I have worked across mental health and related fields in both organisational and clinical settings. I currently provide individual therapy through my private practice and in collaboration with mental health organisations, supporting adults from diverse cultural backgrounds, including expatriates and international clients. Before moving into clinical practice, I worked as a Culture Specialist, supporting employee wellbeing and facilitating workshops that promoted psychological safety in the workplace. Alongside my therapy practice, I design and facilitate workplace wellbeing and sustainable productivity programmes through Aligned Way of Work, translating psychological research into practical tools for leaders, managers, and teams.
